Now everybody knows my relationship with Nike Sportswear and that I am a die hard Nikehead. But before all that I am a lover of dope sneakers regardless of brand and if I wasnt then that would just make me a poser.

With that being said its every so once in a while that a sneaker comes along and makes you say "Damn...I wish my team made that". The Asics Gel Lite III "Leatherback" is that shoe for me right now. Another stellar design piece by Ronnie Fieg a long time collaborator with the brand, highly influential figure in the sneaker community and by all accounts an all round nice guy. I remember when I got put onto these collabs a while back and it reminded me that my dad was heavy into Asics when I was a young youngin and then threw out all the boxes in our garage marked "old shoes" to try and find his old joints but to no avail *sigh*.

Simple, subtle and classy is how I would sum up the shoe but I'll let the pics do the talking...

On Friday 6th of May, the Cape Town bar & club Fiction was host to an epic night of highest caliber music & artist entertainment! With Shelflife Store & Casio G-Shock providing a unique custom G-Shock “watch art” exhibition and Dj Ali B (a resident from Club Fabric in London) spinning his signature beats...this unique club & art event was massive success & as a first-of-its-kind...definitely was one for the history books!

5 established Cape Town artists, comprising of 3 graffiti artists, 2 graphic designers/ illustrators each painted or customised artistically directly onto a G-SHOCK watch as a “canvas” to exhibit & sell on the opening night, in addition supplied 3 unique A4 size paintings/ works to exhibit & sell. Each artist was allocated a wall and a “perspex display case” to customize in their own interpretation of the theme: “FABRIC OF TIME”. The art itself will remain on display for the entire month of May.

Artist included DR.ZVLV, TOE, FERS*YNDICATE, DANIEL TING CHONG & SLATE

The element of graffiti makes this all legit.

Yesterday was like one big reflection of my life work, women, wine, good people, shoes and of course a whole lotta bullshit.

Day started with me finishing up at the agency (which i weirdly find myself typing this from) left early and went to get some SB kicks and was recognised by an old face (pretty one too) then i had some time to kill so i went to one of my favourite spots...nah im not name dropping.

Two hours later I endend up at my 2nd home Shelflife (119 Loop str.) and hung out with the boys no homo. Got to see the new Stussy drop which is fressss. Met this crazy female called Kay (cutie of note) and spoke some shit for a bit....of course I got the BB pin fools. The home girl Adel hooked me up with some fresh threads #BAWSSSS. Then the LPMO boys came through with my second pair of Kool Bob AF1s

Found myself at the Red Bull Studios to brainstorm someteeeng massive for next year (my own sneaker maybe???) with some of Cape Town's elite minds. Got kinda semi drunk and then had to make another mish which you dont have to know about.

I have a feeling today is not going to be half bad either...with less shoes though
